Martha Pullman The book is an eye-opening read about the complexities of American society, especially in the backdrop of racism. The book, at its core, is a human story about people and their circumstances. Lawrence Hayes & Cornelius Butler have inspired me.
- Lowell Williamson I came across the book quite randomly. I, however, was not expecting it to be such a classic. To read the stories of Lawrence and Cornelius left me overwhelmed. To see how things unfolded. The book is also a brutal critique of the racist system in the USA and how it can affect people for generations to come. I have always been interested in the history of the Black Panthers, and this really gave me a perspective that I didn’t have earlier.
- David Jackson“Untold Story of the Panther’s Party” by Lawrence Hayes and Cornelius Butler is an excellent read. If you want to know about the history of the Black Panthers from a different angle, this book is for you. It’s a thought-provoking read.

It is a story about hope. Most of all, it is a story that has an urgent message for our time, reminding us we need to truly understand the human stories of our past and present if we want to bring about a better and more just world for all.
